New construction

I finally have pics that I can share!! We have settled in the rent house, finally. Jake has made a few friends in the neighborhood. I love being here in Burleson. It is close enough to Ft.Worth to go and have fun, but it is far enough to still feel like a neat small town. We have everything finalized for the new house and they have already started construction! The date to officially move in is December 14th, but they figure it will be done before then. David Swafford has been amazing to work with. Highly recommend his homes to anyone. Here are some pics of the beginning process! I will keep posting pics as stuff changes.
Needless to say, Jake is enjoying all the dirt. He was a muddy mess after this. This is looking out from where the patio will be. The bottom picture is of me standing where our back door will be looking to the front of the house.
Jake was so excited when we pulled up and there were tons of kids playing. He was really excited when he said he saw a cute girl. Ha! Lord, we are in for a mess when he gets older!

On the road again

Well we will be moving at the end of the month. I am excited and Jake is as well. Sam is already down in Ft.Worth working and we cant wait to join him. I honestly didn't think we would ever move again. Sam and I moved to Little Rock when we got married. It was really nice! It was close to home but we were able to start our lives somewhere new. We made tons of friends and were members of an amazing church. We had been married for 5 years when we had Jake. It was really hard not having any family at all where we were. We decided that we wanted to come back to Texarkana to be with our family. Many things have happened and I am glad Jake has the relationship with aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins that he does. Sam had been thinking about a change for our family. I knew he had been praying for some answers on what we should do. I prayed with him and knew God would answer when He was ready. Sam was sitting in bed one night and we started talking about the possibility of moving. I jokingly said if we ever moved it would have to be back to Little Rock because I would never go to Dallas. Two (just 2) days later he calls and tells me he has been called for an interview in FT. Worth!!! WHAT! That's in the opposite direction of Little rock! Needless to say, things happened very quickly. The company was really wanting Sam to come and we prayed some very specific things. God answered every single prayer. Some were almost exactly what we asked and some answers were even bigger. We will be renting a house for at least 6 months in a wonderful town. We fell in love with Burleson when were went looking for houses. I honestly was scared of living in Ft.worth. It just seemed way to big! HA! We are praying about building a house once our lease is up. That is something I am so excited about! P.S. I promise to start taking pics when we get to our new house! HA!

Horrible blogger

Confession 1. I love reading all of your blogs.
Confession 2. I really STINK at writing my own!
Confession 3. I am really bad about not getting pictures on here!
We have had some amazing things happen here at our house. I don't have pics uploaded yet so they will have to wait. Just wanted to drop in and share our most favorite news.

Jake accepted Jesus!!!!! My heart cannot be any happier. This has been my prayer for a long time. I am the children's pastor at our church so Jake has basically grown up going to church. He attends Awana ( and is pretty awesome at his verses!) and had really been asking questions since the end of last summer. We wanted him to fully understand what everything meant so we just took our time with his questions. He woke up Friday morning , Feb. 24th, and said that he thought he was ready to ask Jesus in his heart. We talked about it and he decided he wanted to talk to our friends, the Fischers. I called and we headed over there. Ronnie basically asked/talked about all the other things we had discussed and we knew that he fully understood what everything meant!
He was shy about praying and I told him that he should do it when he was ready. Saturday night at 9:30 he asked if we could call Mr. Ronnie! He came right over and we watched as Jake prayed and asked Jesus to be his Savior!
We have some wonderful friends that were our youth pastors. They moved to Tennessee in August so that John could attend seminary. Jake absolutly adores John and Mandie. He couldn't wait to tell John that night. I think it was around 10 when we let Jake call! Jake asked to wait until John could baptize him. Jake was baptized on March the 14th!
We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends in our lives. I am most thankful that Jake understand the love of God. Jake smiled and said "hey Momma, now my name is in the book of life."

Furry baby

We have a new furry baby! Jake has wanted a new puppy for a while now. We just kept putting it off. Our dog now (lab/dalmatian mix) is 8 yrs old. I knew the window for getting a new, hyper, puppy was coming to an end and fast.
While on Facebook one night, I found a girl that was giving away husky mix puppies. I absolutely love huskies! I called hubby over and he was kinda receptive.I had to pull a little begging out before he was sold on the idea. i showed Jake a pic of the pup the next morning and he couldn't wait to go and get her.
Buffy is 8 weeks old and a ball of energy! She has been with us now for 2 weeks and it has been non stop. Oh. my. word. I forgot how having a puppy is so much like having a newborn. i didn't sleep much the first week! It is better now. She only gets up once or twice a night. She loves to bite toes. I have found 1 million of Jakes socks under the couch or dinning room table. She has also chewed through 2 different phone cords. Anyway, here is our new furry baby! Meet Buffy Bennett :P

She is also funny when she sleeps. She likes to wedge herself under the couch or between something. I hate to break her heart, but she isnt going to fit under the couch much longer. She has already grown a lot!

Whew

Ok. I have the etsy shop open. But, I only have one thing in there and it isn't even a good picture! HA! I am sure no one will even bother with it. Oh well, I will get better.
We have been SUPER busy and that is the reason I am so behind on post (and the shop)Our church has VBS in 2 weeks and I am in charge of it. I love doing it but it takes SO much of my time right now. I feel like I dream of pandas and the other characters all of the time. I had globs of black pain in my hair last night from finishing the last panda! Whew, I will be glad when the next 2 weeks are over.

**side note** I really dont know what God has going on for me right now. I am the children's director at our church, home school Jake, and have this really awesome business that has really taken off. All of this on top of trying to take care of my family and home. I feel something has to give but I just don't know what. Pray that God will show me the direction He is taking me. I think I know, but it is such a huge decision.

I am in full bday planning mode for Jake. He will be 7 in September. Wow, I cant get over that he is almost 7. He has decided he wants a Ninja bday. I have been looking for cute ideas and found some on several different blogs. I am going to have a sweet blog friend, Sarah, make his invites. She is such a good party planner. I LOVED her sons first birthday!
Well, I am going to go and finish up on a little girls bday outfit. I am shipping it to New York. She found me on facebook! I think that is the farthest I have shipped something!

It's been a while

Well, yet again, I post that title. I really have had a slump. I had gotten really busy with sewing and now not so much. I have got to get some things sewn up to have on hand and set up an etsy store. We have a very busy day tomorrow so I doubt I will be able to get much done.
Keep praying for my family. Things are changing and some are stressful. I know that God is bigger than anything put before us and that we will be fine. I also know that if feels so much easier to know people are praying for you!
Hugs,
Jessica
